First Year BA Photography students recently went on a study trip to Dublin to explore archives and exhibitions in both Dublin and Belfast:

At the Gallery of Photography in Dublin,Trish Lambe, Gallery Curator, spoke about the Family Album project, and how they are exploring a complex past through the everyday album.

The students, along with Lecturers Matt Johnston and Jon Legge, also visited ‘Belfast Exposed’, where Ciara Hickey introduced the students to an exhibition and research project by Sabina Mac Mahon: An Ulaid – South Down Society of Modern Art.

After taking in some more exhibitions including Duncan Campbell at the IMMA, and Midland-LÁR TÍRE: Cycling the MGWR from Past to Present at the National Library of Ireland, the students explored both cities and used the time to produce their own Photographic shoots.trish lamb talk
