The annual London Art Fair will be taking place next week at the Business Design Centre (18th-22nd January), and this year Photo50 takes its place again, bringing together a number of different photographers with the installment of ‘Gravitas‘, curated by Christiane Monarchi (Photomonitor). Among the exhibiting photographers will be recent graduate Bronte Cordes alongside Principal Lecturer Anthony Luvera.
Bronte will be exhibiting her final degree show work entitled ‘Twenty-one’, a video installation that explores an intensely personal reflection on growing up through using layered imagery including archival material and self-portraits.
Anthony will be showing his work ‘Not going shopping’, from 2013 – where he was invited to collaborate with lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* people in Brighton to create work about being queer.
The Photography Focus day is taking place on Wednesday 18th January, where there will be a series of guided tours, artist talks and panel discussions exploring contemporary photographic practice. Anthony will be talking on a panel with three other exhibiting photographers, led by Christiane, discussing ‘Made Together: participating and collaborating in photographic practice’.
To find out more about the exhibition, Senior Lecturer Caroline Molloy was invited to review the exhibition for Photomonitor, you can find the review on the website.
