A passion for gaming has landed second year Media and Communications student, Tom Woodhouse the job of a lifetime. From the 3rd of July, Tom will be taking up a year long internship with acclaimed games studio EA Games – producers of household gaming titles such as FIFA 2016, Need for Speed, Tiger Woods golf and Battlefield.
Tom will be working in the Marketing and Communications team to deliver promotions via social media, print and retail marketing for the upcoming FIFA 17 football game, the next title in the Battlefield series and Mirror’s Edge 2.
His role will also see him mentor incoming interns for the 2017 cycle, working with the PR team and attending gaming events such as E3, EGX 2016 and more.
Tom had this to say about how his time on the course helped him bag his dream job:
“I think being at uni at Coventry for the past two years has really set me up well for this role because we’ve been encouraged from day one to go out and get professional experience. That encouragement and need for students to go into the real-world of work is something that differentiates us hugely I think. I hope to gain experience of working in a huge professional environment, as well as developing my skills in marketing and gaining insider knowledge on the games industry, as it’s somewhere I’d like to work after university.”
Tom will no doubt be a success and we wish him the best of luck!
