How ‘open’ are social and digital media platforms? Who owns the user data? Does anyone ever read the terms and conditions? These are the questions and themes under examination in the recently launched Social Netcessity publication created by students and staff on the MA CCM course.
Students worked in groups to produce post-digital publications that critically analysed issues such as the relationship between individuals and platforms, identity in a post digital world, neoliberal underpinnings of digital labour, individual power and the screen as a medium of daily interactions.
