Big Weekend, big opportunities

By -

Last week, first year Media and Communications student KIERAN RAZA attended the Radio One Academy in Norwich. After hearing about it on the radio, Kieran applied to the academy in order to hear talks from radio presenters and take part in workshops with professionals from TV, radio, and journalism.

By attending at least four of the Academy sessions, Kieran was then eligible to apply for work experience at the Radio One Big Weekend festival. This weekend he will be working at the festival on the Artist Liaison Team, where he will help to look after the artists and performers backstage. There were only eight work experience places available, and so the competition was extremely tough.

Kieran describes his excitement as he looks forward to the weekend; “the opportunity will be fantastic for building my experience in the area I’m interested in, and improving my CV”.

Let’s hope the sun shines at the weekend, and all the best to Kieran with his work.
