This course directly responds to the challenge of what it means to be a media professional in 21st Century. Our course is continually evolving, in line with the media industry, with input from world-leading experts, researchers, and industry practitioners.
There is a strong emphasis on new media in global and international contexts, enabling you to undertake research projects abroad, study abroad for a year, or undertake a year long placement in the industry. You will focus on the emerging areas of social, open and mobile media, alongside the rapidly transforming established media.
There are a wide range of opportunities for students in the department to get involved in projects, and attend events including world cinema premiers, our Media Research Seminars and our Femininity in Film series.
