Sport reporters go inside Coventry Sphinx FC

Some of Coventry’s top football players have been put in the spotlight by sports-loving Journalism students.

A 12-minute documentary detailing life inside Coventry Sphinx has gone online courtesy of the Coventry TV Sport team.

Coventry Sphinx are the highest ranked non-league side in the city. With only Coventry City FC ahead of them, the Sphinx play in the Midland Football Premier Division at the ninth level of the English football pyramid.

The documentary, Inside Coventry Sphinx, offers an in-depth look the club with interviews with players, staff and fans, as well as match footage and an insight into the club’s history.
The documentary is the result of strong links between Coventry TV Sport and the club, which was happy to work with the students.
Special thanks go out to the Sphinx’s publicity officer, Sharon Taylor, for her co-operation and assistance in making the film become a reality.

It is hoped that the documentary will kick-start new interest in the Sphinx and Coventry’s sporting scene, with more plans under way at the channel to cover the thriving community in 2015 and beyond.
