Mobile mixing desk turns lobby into studio

Well, that’s one way to get good reception – film in Reception.

A new portable TriCaster mixing desk means Journalism students can set up a studio pretty well anywhere – including the lobby in the Ellen Terry building at Coventry University.

Only five weeks into the autumn term, and second-years were already producing their first TV show, recorded in one take in front of a live audience. It features pieces on Coventry’s bid to become European City of Culture, a Halloween make-up tutorial, and a tour of rarely-seen parts of the lakeside at Coombe Abbey park.
