Max is first winner of car writer award

Automotive journalism graduate Max Prince has become the first winner of a new award recognising excellence in final project work on Coventry University’s unique Automotive Journalism Masters course.

The Midland Group of Motoring Writers is one of seven UK regional groups for motoring journalists, and has become the first of these groups to sponsor a university award.

Max, from Missouri in the USA, won for his work on the application of the New Yorker model of long-form journalism to automotive magazines. He received the certificate from Automotive Journalism lecturer Andrew Noakes (above right) following his graduation ceremony at Coventry Cathedral.

  • The 2014 award was won by Sam Sheehan, who became a staff writer at Evo magazine immediately after completing his MA Automotive Journalism course at Coventry.
