This degree is designed to prepare you for a career in the digital media industries and will cover a number of areas including the digital aspects of advertising, marketing, publishing, moving-image, multimedia, web and social media.
You will have the opportunity to develop your creative and critical skills by learning a range of tools, creative processes and analytical skills to create video, graphics, websites and combining them into cutting-edge innovations for digital audiences.
The course takes an innovative approach to learning: it is focused around digital storytelling, media design, creative technologies and looking at digital cultures and audiences. Working on a series of live and industry-focused creative briefs, you will have the opportunity to work within a range of contexts to expand your creative, technical and critical thinking abilities.
Staff research interests include digital publishing, filmmaking, gamification, media activism, creative technologies and interactive media production. Staff have won many awards for their creative work and screen their work at international festivals and conferences as well as working for high profile organisations.
Graduates from our department and school have gone on to work in prominent media and digital organisations including the BBC, Google and some of the country’s top advertising agencies. Your future employability is at the heart of what we do. Our students regularly work with major companies such as Mini, BMW, the FA and a number of major digital media organisations to give them experience of collaborating and innovating on real-world projects.
